• Jack Petchy Horseriding Trip

A huge congratulations to all of you who went on the horse riding event on Tuesday. Staff reported that you all had an amazing day and were brilliantly behaved. Here are a few photos! Congratulations in particular to Daisy for winning the Jack Petchy Award in the Spring and for generously offering your prize to support other students in having a new and exciting equestrian experience.

  • Have you got a FIXED mindset or a GROWTH mindset?

Following on from a recent assembly, you will find a new display all about the Growth Mindset that we want all students at Full Circle to develop. Have you seen the display? Next time you pass it, take a look and see if any of the characteristics apply to you? If you are intrigued now, take a look at the images below that will help you to understand what thinking habits and actions determine your mindset. We will help you to break habits that have led to a fixed mindset and help you grow positively.

  • Are YOU ready to Learn?

Getting yourself organised for school and ready to learn is crucial for your success. Becoming independent and responsible is part of growing-up and although you may find it difficult, it is a necessary skill for life. Your parents/carers have been sent a letter outling our expectations that you come to school everyday prepared with the the right tools for learning, personal equipment and kit to participate and positively engage. The following posters will be around school to remind you. Take 5 minutes every night to prepare for tomorrow. "FAIL TO PREPARE. PREPARE TO FAIL!"

  • End of Term News

It has been such a busy and enterprising term but so lovely to see students relax a little and enjoy some time on the ice for their end of term ice skating trip.

All the staff would like to congratulate Billie-Jo Marquiss and Lauren Newey for winning this term's Jack Petchy Awards for progress, and students will benefit from access to Adobe Photoshop in GCSE Media Studies and new video camera equipment thanks to their generous Jack Petchy donation to this subject which both girls take.

We would also like to congratulate Rhys Girvan and Ashley Lake who successfully completed a two week work experience and return to school this week after two eventful weeks in a catering firm and garage. Well done lads!

This week will see our first 'Enigma' Art and Poetry Exhibition and all friends of Full Circle, family and professional colleagues are very welcome to come and enjoy the fantastic poetry and art work produced by Full Circle students this term on the theme of 'Conflict'. Thought provoking and at times very moving, their work is a testament of their creativity, imagination and critical thinking. If you would like to come along, the show takes place at Full Circle on Wednesday 16th December 1.00-2.30pm. We will post photographs here.

Have a great last week.....Only four days to go!

Hoping you all have a fantastic

  • A glimpse into the Arts Award 'Enigma' lessons on Conflict

Students have produced some stunning pieces of art in response to our 'Enigma' topic on Conflict. Today, 'Rememberance Day' we studied the story of 'The Christmas Truce' and the photograph depicting German and British soldiers playing football. Students then worked to re-create this image through scuplture. The piece is yet to be finished but here is some work in progress and some images of some of the thought provoking art work produced by students this term.

  • Bertha the Boa Visit

As part of our Wednesday enrichment we had the pleasure of welcoming Bertha the Albino Boa; Jarvis the therapy dog and a wide variety of exotic creatures to Full Circle last week. Animal Therapy is a six-weekly workshop at Full Circle, and last week these fantastic animals and their knowledgeable handlers visited Full Circle for an afternoon of squeals, laughter and lots questions. Here are some photos of students with Bertha, Jarvis and a number of other fabulous creatures.
